Locally known as Unguja, Zanzibar is a small island in the Indian Ocean off the east coast of Africa, about 60 kilometres from Tanzania’s principal port of Dar es Salaam. High-speed ferries regularly call at Zanzibar from Dar es Salaam, as well as inexpensive commuter flights from the domestic terminal of the Dar es Salaam airport.

Getting Here

Pongwe beach is a 35 kilometre drive on a good tarmac road from Stone town. A taxi can be taken from both the airport and ferry port. Alternatively you can use our transfer service for $40.
